During individual therapy you will meet with a therapist and create an individualized treatment plan. You and the therapist will work on your treatment goals on a one-on-one basis. During this time the therapist will incorporate your hobbies, strengths, cognitive behavioral therapy, art therapy, music therapy and other therapeutic techniques during the session.
In family therapy, two or more family members will meet with a therapist and engage in therapy sessions. The family will come together to determine what the family needs to work on collectively and create goals for the family to accomplish. The therapist will work on increasing the family’s understanding of the family dynamic, teach the family coping mechanisms and help the family learn how to problem solve effectively.
Couple’s therapy involves a therapist, you and your spouse and/or partner. You and your significant other will come together with the therapist to address any conflict you may be experiencing. Therapy is a safe space to discuss challenges you may be having as a couple. The therapist will teach you and your significant other coping skills to use, and communication skills to use when speaking with each other.
